Multi Project Opportunities for Maryland Nurses

Posted over 5 years ago

On behalf of the Maryland Nurses Association, we sincerely thank you for your continued service and support during the COVID-19 pandemic.  We would like to make you aware of two opportunities that have risen and we are urgently seeking nurses and nurse support staff to screen, test, treat and deliver healthcare required to mitigate the disease and save lives. Your invaluable knowledge and skillset are essential in supporting the state as the number of COVID-19 positive cases increase.

Volunteer Opportunity

The Maryland Nurses Association would like to support the Simmons Memorial Baptist Church in West Baltimore, Pastor Simmons, Dr. Dan Howard, MD, Senator Shirley Nathan-Pulliam, Dr. Charlotte M. Wood, RN, President of MNA, and Dr. Chris Gibbons, CEO of the Greystone Group Inc., to address the COVID-19 related health and volunteer staffing needs in West Baltimore. A volunteer recruitment website is being developed for your convenience. However, in the meantime if you are willing to volunteer to tele-triage during this time of critical need, please contact Veronda Turner, at vlt@greystonehit.com. To register simply provide your skill set, areas of expertise and preferences, as well as indicate that you heard about this initiative through MNA. Please provide any available times and/or days you may be available to volunteer to join the fight against COVID-19 and to support communities in Baltimore City.

Paid Opportunity

The Maryland Department of Health has partnered with the Maryland Hospital Association, B4Health, Allegis Global Solutions and several staffing agencies to address this expected staffing shortage. A recruitment website has been created where you can apply for a paid position at a hospital or alternative care site. To register simply provide your skill set, areas of expertise and preferences. If you are willing to serve during this time of critical need, please go to www.MarylandMedNow.com or click here to sign up to join the fight against COVID-19 and to support communities across Maryland.

We encourage you to take pictures and send them to at MNAinfo@marylandrn.org so that we can post them on our website and include them in The Maryland Nurse to recognize all of the amazing work that nurses are doing. Thank you for your tireless commitment and tremendous effort!
