Happy International Nurses Day! Enjoy this dedication to you from former American Idol Contestant Joey Booker

Posted about 4 years ago by Jacqueline Patterson

As we celebrate International Nurses Day this year, we pause to reflect and celebrate each of you, our Maryland Nurses, and nurses across the globe who have played instrumental roles during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The commitment and dedication you have shown this past year has been nothing short of monumental.

Thank You, you are appreciated!  To celebrate each of you, please enjoy this song dedicated to you by former American Idol Contestant Joey Booker, entitled I.C.U.

Joey Booker is a singer/songwriter and a previous American Idol contestant who worked in healthcare for nine years. While working side-by-side with nurses, he witnessed what nurses go through and is always in awe of how much they sacrifice. Joey wrote and recorded a song called "I.C.U." to recognize nurses. He has opened an online store called the ICU Pop-Up store to sell t-shirts and accessories with 50% of the proceeds going to the Coronavirus Response Fund for Nurses. The website is seenurses.com and he hopes this song will be one nurses and those touched by them will enjoy.

Joey will be joining MNA for its 118th Annual Convention to perform I.C.U. in October!
