MNA Update: COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate

Posted about 4 years ago

Greetings MNA Members,

On July 26, 2021, ANA joined several major health care professional organizations calling for COVID-19 vaccine mandates for all health workers as a result of the increase of the highly transmissible and contagious COVID-19 Delta variant.

According to health department data, Maryland’s COVID-19 case and hospitalization metrics have been trending upward since the beginning of July. The statewide seven-day average testing positivity rate has climbed to 2.15%, up from a low of 0.45% in June.

MNA values your input. A COVID-19 Vaccination Survey was sent out yesterday via email.  Data from the survey will be used to craft MNA’s position statement. Please click here to complete survey.

In the interim, MNA continues to support the CDC guidelines and ANA’s position “that the public practice the precautions recommended by public health officials to prevent the spread of COVID-19 until the U.S. population has been broadly immunized against the virus.”
