Posted almost 2 years ago in Nurses Month

My fellow nurses of Maryland,

I stand before you today, not only as the President of this great nursing organization but also as a representative of gratitude, respect, and admiration for your unwavering commitment and tireless service. As we celebrate Nurses Week, it is with immense pride that I address each and every one of you who dedicate your lives to the noble profession of nursing.

Throughout history, nurses have been the backbone of healthcare, providing compassionate care and comfort to those in need. You have witnessed the joys and sorrows, the triumphs and tribulations, of countless individuals and their families. Your presence and expertise have brought solace during moments of uncertainty and healing in times of distress. Your contributions to the field of healthcare are immeasurable and deserve our utmost appreciation.

The past year THREE YEARS tested us in unimaginable ways. The global pandemic has presented challenges that none of us could have foreseen. But in the face of adversity, you, the nurses of Maryland, have risen above the call of duty. You have selflessly put yourselves at the forefront of this battle, working tirelessly to care for the sick, ease the suffering, and save lives. Your bravery, resilience, and dedication have been nothing short of extraordinary.

I want you to know that your sacrifices have not gone unnoticed. Your courage has inspired a nation, and your unwavering commitment has provided hope in times of despair. Your compassion and empathy have made a lasting impact on the lives of countless patients and their families. You are the heroes who have shouldered the burden of this pandemic, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

As we move forward, it is MNA’s commitment to support and uplift the nursing profession. We will strive to ensure that you have the resources, protection, and recognition you need and deserve. We will continue to invest in your education and professional development, enabling you to thrive and make an even greater impact. Your voices will be heard, and your concerns will be addressed as we work together to build a stronger, more resilient healthcare system.

During this Nurses Week, take a moment to reflect on the incredible work you do and the lives you touch. Celebrate your achievements, but also remember the challenges you have overcome. Your dedication to your patients, your colleagues, and your communities is an inspiration to us all. You represent the very best of our healthcare system, and your contributions are invaluable.

On behalf of a grateful state, I extend my deepest gratitude and respect to each and every nurse in Maryland. Your commitment to the well-being of others is a testament to your character and the values that define our great nation. Thank you for your unwavering service, and may you be blessed with strength, resilience, and continued success in all your endeavors.

Happy Nurses Week!

Sincerely,
