Seeks Applicants for 2023 Nursing Education Scholarships

 

Application deadline August 27, 2023

 

The Nursing Foundation of Maryland, Inc. (NFM) is seeking applications for 2023 Nursing Scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded to those demonstrating scholarship, community service, commitment to, and potential for, leadership in nursing.

 

Applicants must meet the following criteria for eligibility:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited Maryland nursing education program.
  • Be a resident of Maryland.
  • Scheduled to receive the pursued nursing degree in 2023 or 2024.
  • Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Demonstrate involvement in community service.
  • Demonstrate commitment to, and potential for, leadership in nursing.
  • Submit a letter of application.
  • Provide at least two (2) letters of reference. One letter must be from a nursing faculty member. 
  • If a Registered Nurse, must be a member of the Maryland Nurses Association at the time of application.
  • Has not previously received a scholarship from the NFM.
  • Meet the specific eligibility criteria for the scholarship to which they are applying.

Please Note:  Scholarship awardees will be invited and are expected to attend the Maryland Nurses Association’s 120th Annual Convention Scholarship Awards Event to be held on Friday, October 13th, 2023 at the Fontainebleau Resort, Ocean City, MD.  Awardees will be notified of the exact time following selection.

 

Application

All information included in the checklist and the signed checklist must be received by the NFM by midnight on August 27th, 2023. Please email complete application packet to: Nursing.Foundation.of.Maryland@gmail.com.  Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

 

The purpose of the NFM is to generate, accept, and distribute funds for educational and scientific endeavors and is a 501 (c)(3) organization.
