Hello MNA Members,
It is time to review the MNA Bylaws that were adopted by the MNA membership in 2018 (attached). You are invited to participate in the process of reviewing and proposing changes to the current MNA Bylaws
The Bylaws are the highest governing document of an organization. MNA is a membership organization. One of the fundamental rights of a membership organization is the members’ right to amend and adopt its Bylaws.
To submit proposed changes to the Bylaws you will need to include three items of information for each proposed change that you submit.
- The numbers of the lines that correspond to the part of the MNA Bylaws that you are proposing to change.
- The words that you are proposing that it be changed to.
- The rationale for your proposed changes.
Send these three items for each proposed change to MNAInfo@MarylandRN.org no later than Thursday, February 22, 2024. You will receive a receipt message indicating that your proposed changes have been received.
Then, the Committee of Bylaws and Policies will collate the proposed changes received from MNA members and present this information to the MNA Board of Directors at their meeting in March. After that, the proposed changes move forward to the ANA Committee of Bylaws and Policies for review. The ANA’s response will be reviewed by the MNA Board of Directors. Then, at least 60 days before the MNA 121st Annual Convention, the proposed Bylaws will be shared with the MNA membership.
At the MNA Annual Business/Membership Meeting that will be held during the MNA 121st Annual Convention at the Westin Annapolis on September 26 and 27, 2024, the proposed Bylaws will be presented to the MNA members for its final review and approval.
Your participation in this very important work is essential.
Thank you,
Barb
