Message from District 1 President and Committee on Nomination Member

Dear District Nurses Association One (DNA 1) Members:

 

The annual MNA and District Election Process has started. We are writing to you to make you aware of the leadership opportunities for 2026 - 2027. We are hoping that you will give serious consideration to being a candidate for one of the positions to be elected in 2025. Last year MNA came close to having at least one candidate for each elected position on the District Ballots. District #1 has been successful in achieving that goal for the last couple of years, and we hope to continue that trend with your help. We have seven (7) District leadership opportunities in the 2025 election.

 The goal for the 2025 MNA & District Elections is to have a complete election ballot for each of the eight Districts and for the State. The positions to be elected in 2025 according to the 2020 DNA 1 Bylaws are as listed below and the term of office is for 2 years from JAN 01, 2026, through DEC 31, 2027, for all positions.

 

1) Keep minutes of all meetings of this DNA and the Board of Directors.

2) Conduct general correspondence of this DNA and the Board of Directors.

3) Provide for the maintenance of all DNA meeting minutes and related documents in a place/manner accessible to DNA Board members.

 

1) Be accountable for the fiscal affairs of DNA 1 and shall provide written reports and interpretation of such reports to the DNA 1 Board of Directors and members.

2) Develop a DNA 1 budget annually for Board of Directors approval.

3) Serve as a member of the MNA Committee on Finance.

 

1) Attend DNA Board of Directors Meetings.

2) Attend DNA Annual Membership Meeting.

3) Perform other duties as requested.

 

1) Help develop slate of candidates for MNA officer positions to be elected

2) Assist with maintaining email addresses for all District members

3) Assist with preparation of MNA & District mailed ballots when needed

4) Develop DNA slate of candidates for DNA positions to be elected each year and ensure a complete candidate application package for each District candidate to be submitted to MNA by the requested date

5) Attend MNA CON meetings, respond to requests for information and action, and keep MNA CON Chair updated on progress

6) Attend DNA 1 BOD meetings keeping them informed of District and MNA Election Progress

 

 

 

1) Help develop slate of candidates for DNA positions to be elected each year and

ensure a complete candidate application package for each District candidate

2) Keep DNA 1 member of the MNA CON updated on progress in developing District Slate of Candidates.

3) Assist with maintaining email addresses for all District members.

4) Assist with preparation of MNA & District mailed ballots when needed

 

If you are interested in being a candidate for one of the positions above, which we hope you will be, what will be needed from you is the following information ASAP but No Later than July 11, 2025:

 

1) 2025 District Consent to Serve Form which is attached to this letter

2) 200-word or less essay addressing qualifications for and interest in the position

3) JPEG Photo (head & shoulders) the last 5 years preferred – OPTIONAL
